Motion Inc. is owned by Ed McKeon and Glenn Orkin, whose first collaboration was a documentary about legendary Cajun fiddler Dewy Balfa, shot on location in Lousiana in 1991.
Glenn Orkin:
Glenn is a co-owner of Motion, Inc. and has been with the company since 1983. A seasoned director, he’s completed hundreds of programs for our clients, recently garnering the New England Regional Emmy for his documentary about Alzheimer's Disease. Over the years Glenn has taught video production at Wesleyan University and Trinity College, and served as a member of the Connecticut Film Commission. He especially enjoys the collaborative and creative aspects of filmmaking and the challenges of running a business.
Ed McKeon:
Ed has worked in television production for over 25 years as a writer, producer and director. He has managed two corporate television facilities, and has created print and video for a number of clients while a freelancer. At Motion, Ed shares his years of creative experience with every client who walks in the door. In addition to his work at Motion, Inc., he regularly teaches film courses at Trinity College in Hartford. When he isn't filmmaking or teaching others how to do so, you will often find him blogging or sharing his latest musical discovery on his popular radio show. Ed loves live music, microbrews and barbecue in its infinite varieties and spending time with his wife, Lucy, and twin boys, Aidan & Dermot.
Todd Sanderson:
Before Motion Inc. Todd worked on feature film sets in nearly every department, and over time learned that his true passion is in the edit room. Here at Motion Inc. Todd is our senior Avid editor and compositor. You will often find him coming up with an innovative new way to use a client's footage, creating a cool new animation in After Effects, and simultaneously editing a rough cut for one of our clients. He is nearly always doing multiple things at once. Our clients adore him, and, well, so do we. When he isn't at Motion, you will find him scoring goals for his hockey team, rooting for his favorite football team (New England Patriots!), or spending time with his wife, Beth, and daughter, Audrey.
Kim Juliano:
Kim Juliano re-joined the Motion crew in 2010. As a production generalist, Kim
handles duties that range from organizing props and food service to producing. Kim
comes from a family of film enthusiasts; son Grayson is an editor at ESPN and younger
son Spencer is a communications major in college. Outside of Motion, Kim’s other
business interests include performing as a voice-over narrator and creating jewelry.
Outside of work Kim enjoys the beach in Rhode Island with her husband Jimmy and
her dog Sasha.
Preston Bittenbender:
For the last 10 years Preston has had an interesting and varied career in television and video production. Until joining Motion he spent most of his time in NYC shooting and editing features for a nationally syndicated lifestyle and entertainment show. And before that he spent 3 years in pits and tracks around the country - and world - shooting video for the IndyCar Series, for clients such as ESPN, HBO Sports and Nightline. A native of Michigan, Preston began his career as a news and sports photojournalist for TV stations in his home state and in Indiana. When at home, Preston enjoys running, watching football and spending time with his wife Bethany and son Preston.
